AceShowbiz - Nominees for the 24th annual MTV Movie Awards are announced. "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Neighbors", along with "The Fault in Our Stars", dominate the pack with seven nods each. Meanwhile, "Neighbors" star Seth Rogen and "Fault in Our Stars" actor Ansel Elgort are tied for the most acting nominations with five apiece.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Fault in Our Stars" are vying for the top prize, Movie of the Year. The comic book movie and the romantic flick are joined in the stiff competition by such films as "American Sniper", "Selma", "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1", "Gone Girl", "Boyhood", and "Whiplash".
"Hunger Games" leading lady Jennifer Lawrence is up for Best Female Performance, facing off "Fault in Our Stars" actress Shailene Woodley, "Birdman" beauty Emma Stone, "Wild" actress Reese Witherspoon, and "Lucy" heroine Scarlett Johansson.
"American Sniper" male lead Bradley Cooper is competing for Best Male Performance. He is pitted against "Guardians of the Galaxy" Star-Lord Chris Pratt, "Fault in Our Stars" actor Elgort, "Whiplash" star Miles Teller, and "Foxcatcher" cast member Channing Tatum.
The winners will be announced in a live telecast April 12 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, California. Comedian Amy Schumer will serve as a host.
