The singer sang a medley of songs by U2 and Michael Jackson as a part of his legal team's effort to demonstrate that his song wasn't improperly derived from Marvin Gaye's 'Gotta Give It to You'.

AceShowbiz - Robin Thicke turned a Los Angeles federal courtroom into a stage. On Wednesday, February 25. the singer sang, played piano and even danced a little bit as he took the stand in a trial that will decide whether his 2013 hit "Blurred Lines" infringed on Marvin Gaye's 1977 song "Gotta Give It Up."

Thicke sang a medley of U2's "With or Without You", The Beatles' "Let It Be", Alphaville's "Forever Young", Bob Marley's "No Woman No Cry" and Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" as a part of his and his legal team's effort to demonstrate that the 36-year-old crooner's collaboration with Pharrell Williams and T.I. wasn't improperly derived from Gaye's song.

In his testimony, Thicke confirmed the statements he made in his deposition, saying he did interviews in 2013 while being drunk and high on drugs. "I had a drug and alcohol problem for the year and I didn't do a sober interview. So I don't recall many things that I said, " he said.

He also admitted that he lied about writing the song, saying Pharrell worked on the song all by himself. He told the jury that he was barely present when the song was created and that he was trying to take credit because after all the songs he wrote himself, the biggest one was written by someone else.

"I felt it was a little white lie that didn't hurt his career but boosted mine," he said.

The trial is expected to run for eight days and include testimony from Pharrell, T.I. and Thicke's ex Paula Patton, who co-wrote "Love After War".
