The Broadway star calls the 'Hairspray' star Glom Gazingo after he butchered her name when introducing her performance at the Oscars last year.

AceShowbiz - Idina Menzel mocked John Travolta's mispronunciation of her name at the 2015 Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22. Menzel, who was called Adele Dazeem by the "Hairspray" actor when he introduced the Broadway star's performance at the event last year, called the actor "Glom Gazingo" when they were set to present Best Original Song award at the Sunday ceremony.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the stage my very dear friend, Glom Gazingo," she said in front of the audience. "I deserve that," Travolta replied before touching her face, "But you my darling, my beautiful my wickedly talented Idina Menzel. Is that right?"

Travolta has shared the story behind last year's embarrassing incident, saying on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!: After the Oscars" that Goldie Hawn partly contributed to the name flub. Back then, Travolta had just met Hawn backstage. "Now Goldie Hawn is sexy, charismatic, beautiful ... amazing, and I was star-struck," he explained. "I'm star-struck hugging and loving her up, forgetting that I have to go and do this bit. And they said, 'You're on.' "

The 46-year-old actor continued saying that he didn't realize he would take the stage soon and found out that his page was stuck in an elevator. Additionally, her name was spelled phonetically on the teleprompter. "What is that name? I don't know that name," he said. "It was the phonetic spelling, but I didn't rehearse it that way."

Although Travolta didn't butcher anyone's name at the Sunday event, Twitter still had a field day that night. The actor was caught on camera looking at Benedict Cumberbatch and a fan captioned the photo with a snarky comment, "I'm going to kill you, Brendadirk Cramplescrunch," prompting the joke to trend on Twitter.
