Screenwriter Jason Hall shares the info in a new interview, saying that Taya Kyle asked people behind the movie not to include the scene showing the sniper's death at a firing range.

AceShowbiz - People behind "American Sniper" production have decided to omit the final scene showing Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's death at a Texas firing range in 2013. Speaking to New York Daily News, screenwriter Jason Hall revealed that he wrote five scenarios on how to approach the scene, but the team eventually decided not to use them following a request by Taya, Chris' widow.

"Five days after Chris was murdered, (Taya) called and said, 'This is going to be how my children remember their father, so I want you to get right,' " Hall shared. "In the end, I think we felt that this was a film about Chris' life and not about his death. We also wanted to be careful not to glorify the guy who did it."

"American Sniper" tells the story of Kyle who was claimed to be the most lethal sniper in the U.S. military history. He died in February 2013 after he and a friend were shot by a troubled veteran. The trial is still underway.

In the interview, Hall additionally shared many people praised the Clint Eastwood-directed movie for showing veteran's life. "The benefit that we have seen from it, and hopefully it continues, is that soldiers see the movie and they come home and they start talking," he said of the film which is up for multiple categories at the upcoming Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Actor for Bradley Cooper.

First Lady Michelle Obama also sang praises for the film at Got Your 6 event in late January, saying that it is "a complex, emotional depiction of a veteran and his family." She added, "This movie reflects those wrenching stories that I've heard - the complex journeys that our men and women in uniform endure. The complicated moral decisions they are tasked with every day. The stresses of balancing love of family with a love of country. And the challenges of transitioning back home to their next mission in life."
