The 'Imitation Game' actor exchanged wedding vows with his expecting bride in an intimate ceremony in Isle of Wight in front of close family and friends on February 14.

AceShowbiz - Benedict Cumberbatch is officially taken off the market. The Alan Turing of "The Imitation Game" tied the knot with his fiancee Sophie Hunter in a hush-hush ceremony on Valentine's Day at the 12th Century St Peter and St Paul church in Mottistone, Isle of Wight.
It was a small affair with around 40 guests of close family and friends in attendance. Among those witnessing the union included Cumberbatch's "Sherlock" on-screen arch nemesis Andrew Scott, "War Horse" co-star Tom Hiddleston, and another famous friend Martin Freeman.
Security was ramped up for the wedding. Road to the church was closed, staff were sworn to secrecy, and a white van was reportedly parked outside the building as the bride arrived being surrounded by people holding umbrellas. "It was a chilly day with heavy rain. We were so far away all we could see were people with umbrellas," an onlooker told the Daily Mirror.
After the nuptials, the newlyweds drove the short distance in a vintage Jaguar to the Mottistone Manor for their reception. The manor is reportedly owned by a family. Rumor has it, the bride who is a theatre and opera director is a distant relative of the first Lord Mottistone.
Before the wedding, the groom allegedly hosted a party for 140 guests at the George Hotel in Yarmouth on the island. "Benedict had a big party here on Friday night. There were about 140 people and it was a buffet meal. We have all been told to keep quiet about it and not tell anyone," a source told the Daily Mail.
Benedict Cumberbatch, 38, and Sophie Hunter, 36, met in 2009 on the set of "Burlesque Fairytales". They announced their engagement in November. They are expecting their first child together and wanted to get married before the baby was born. It's the first marriage for both.
His pal Scott previously joked, "I don't think Benedict will ask me to be a godfather. I'm his arch nemesis." Freeman reportedly served as the best man at the weekend wedding, but his partner Amanda Abbington dismissed the report as "bowel-shatteringly, mind-numbingly wrong."
