Asked if he had ever heard of Beck prior to Sunday's Grammy Awards, the rapper says he loves the multi-instrumentalist, but he disagrees that his 'Morning Phase' won the prize over Beyonce's album.

AceShowbiz - Kanye West is a fan of Beck despite his post-Grammy Award diss. After previously implying that the 44-year-old multi-instrumentalist wasn't an "artist," the rapper explained his statement when he caught up with TMZ at a New York City airport on Monday morning, February 9.

"No, I wasn't saying Beck. I said the Grammys," he said. "Beck knows that Beyonce should have won - you know that." Asked if he'd ever heard of Beck before the Sunday awards show, 'Ye replied, "Come on, man, I love Beck. But he ain't have Album of the Year."

As previously reported, West nearly crashed Beck's acceptance speech after his "Morning Phase" won the coveted Album of the Year Award over other albums by Beyonce Knowles, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Pharrell Williams.

The "Bound 2" hitmaker then said in an interview with E!, "I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't going to play with them no more. 'Flawless'. Beyonce's video. And Beck needs to respect artistry, and he should have given his award to Beyonce."

Beck, however, has no hard feelings over West's remark. He even agreed that Bey should've won the award over him. "I thought she was going to win. Come on, she's Beyonce!" he told Us Weekly. He also said he still had a lot of admiration for West, adding, "You can't please everybody, man. I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."
