AceShowbiz - "Better Call Saul" opened to a record-breaking premiere. The new drama starring Bob Odenkirk drew 6.9 million viewers and a 3.4 rating in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, setting the best series premiere in cable history.
The "Breaking Bad" spin-off enjoyed a boost from a strong lead-in, being aired after the midseason return of AMC's hit series "The Walking Dead". The zombie-themed series itself drew 15.6 million viewers and a 8.0 rating among adults 18-49.
The post-apocalyptic drama performed well despite a strong competition from the 57th annual Grammy Awards, which delivered 25.3 million viewers and an 8.5 rating in the adults demo. It marks the lowest viewership for the prize-giving event in six years since the 2009 Grammys which posted 19.05 million total viewers and a 7.4/18 rating.
"Better Call Saul" airs its second episode Monday, February 9 at 10/9c on AMC.
