AceShowbiz - Jack Black has been added as a performer at the upcoming Academy Awards. On Thursday, February 5, it was revealed that the star of "The School of Rock" would deliver a "special" performance at the ceremony honoring this year's outstanding works and figures in movies.
The show's producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan shared the exciting news in a statement. Without revealing any details about Black's upcoming performance, they said, "Jack Black is a complete original comic voice and we're beyond thrilled that he has agreed to join the Oscars show in a very special sequence."
This will not be Black's first time to perform at the awards show. He performed a number at the 79th Academy Awards in 2007 alongside Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. He was also at the 81st Academy Awards as a presenter.
The 87th Academy Awards is taking place on February 22 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The host, Neil Patrick Harris, has been preparing for the big show. "Oof. I am knee deep in #Oscars rehearsals. Why, oh why did I ask for a wading pool...," he tweeted on Thursday night.
