Mark Gatiss tweets, 'We Gingers must stick together...,' which is a reference to 'The Red-Headed League'.

AceShowbiz - Mark Gatiss may have dropped a hint at the plotline for "Sherlock" Christmas special while official synopsis of the upcoming outing has not been revealed yet. On Monday, February 2, the show's series co-creator tweeted, "We Gingers must stick together...#Sherlock," along with a picture of a window display which features the name of Jabez Wilson, a pawnbroker.

Fans of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's detective stories soon linked the tweet to "The Adventure of the Red-Headed League", which was first published in August 1891. The story follows Sherlock as he solves a case following a report from Jabez Wilson, a pawnbroker with unique flame hair color, who works for extra money in the afternoon and gets frustrated when his employer suddenly shuts down the business.

Gatiss has neither confirmed nor denied the speculation. The Christmas special is expected to air later this year.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman have been busy filming the special. They were most recently snapped shooting the BBC series in Bristol, England wearing Victorian era clothing.

Natasha O'Keeffe, who also stars in the "Sherlock" special, has been spotted filming a gruesome death scene. Some on-set photos featured her dressing in a bridal style ivory Victorian costume and holding two silver pistols while standing on a balcony. At one point, she pointed one of the guns to her mouth and pretended to pull the trigger as fake blood splashed on a curtain behind her.
