The 'Batman Forever' actor was rushed to UCLA Medical Center on Monday night, January 26 after he began bleeding from the throat.

AceShowbiz - Val Kilmer was sent to UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica after he began bleeding from the throat, TMZ reported. According to the site, the 55-year-old actor suffered a throat tumor. Val is currently recovering after undergoing a surgery.

Law enforcement sources told the site that paramedics rushed to Val's Malibu residence on Monday night, January 26 after receiving a phone call about the bleeding. The Santa Monica Fire Department confirmed to PEOPLE that a man was transported from Val's address that day.

"We received a call at 11:31 p.m. from that address," a spokesperson for the fire department said, "He was transported ALS [advanced life support] to the hospital."

According to TMZ, Val's family has been upset because he has ignored the illness and let it get worse. The "Wyatt Earp's Revenge" actor was last seen attending a Clippers game with his son Jack on January 16. At that time, he was photographed with his neck covered with black scarf.

Back in October, the "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" actor reportedly was unable to speak in court over a dispute with his landlord because his tongue was swollen.

Val's representative has not commented on the issue yet.
