Liam Hemsworth Wanted for 'Independence Day 2'

Sources close to the 'Independence Day' sequel reveal that the 'Hunger Games' hunk is offered a role in the movie.

AceShowbiz - The Sequel to "Independence Day", which is titled "ID Forever Part 1", is eyeing Liam Hemsworth for an unspecified role. Citing sources close to the production, TheWrap says the actor who is known for his role as Gale Hawthorne in "The Hunger Games" is offered a role in the sci-fi movie. A rep for 20th Century Fox had no comment on the casting report.

Will Smith will not return to "ID Forever", but Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman are expected to be back as scientist David Levinson and President Thomas J. Whitmore respectively. Roland Emmerich serves behind the camera. Carter Blanchard is hired to rewrite the first draft of the film which is written by James Vanderbilt. "ID Forever" is set to arrive in theaters on June 24, 2016, nearly twenty years after the original movie's release.

Hemsworth next can be seen in "By Way of Helena". Also starring Woody Harrelson and Emory Cohen, the thriller is set for release later this year. The next installment in "The Hunger Games" movie, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2", arrives in U.S. theaters on November 20.
