Simon Pegg Reportedly Co-Writing 'Star Trek 3' Script
Movie

The actor who plays Scotty in the previous two 'Star Trek' movies reportedly is working on the script with Doug Jung for the Justin Lin-directed project.

AceShowbiz - Simon Pegg apparently is tapped to write "Star Trek 3" script. According to a Wednesday, January 21 report from Deadline, the actor who plays Scotty in 2009's "Star Trek" and its sequel "Star Trek Into Darkness" is up for scribing duty alongside Doug Jung ("Dark Blue").

This will not be Pegg's first time scribing a movie. He previously wrote the script of 2004's "Shaun of the Dead", 2007's "Hot Fuzz" and 2013's "The World's End" with Edgar Wright.

"Star Trek 3" is directed by Justin Lin after Roberto Orci left the project. Orci, however, is still involved in the movie as producer. The film depicting the adventure of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew would be released on July 8, 2016.

Pegg next can be seen in sci-fi comedy "Absolutely Anything". Playing a man who can do "absolutely anything" after a group of alien granted his wish, Pegg is seen having conversation with his dog Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) in a clip. Also starring Kate Beckinsale and Eddie Izzard, it is set to arrive in theaters sometime this year.
