The actor is expected to portray a pivotal character on the 13-episode reboot of 'Heroes', marking his first major TV gig since his Chuck Bartowski days.

AceShowbiz - Zachary Levi has landed his first major TV role since "Chuck" ended in 2012 after five-year run. The Fandral of "Thor: The Dark World" is cast to play a key character on the upcoming 13-episode miniseries "Heroes Reborn".

"There are a few franchises I've always wanted to be a part of, and Heroes is one of them," he told TVLine. "Chuck gave me the opportunity to wield some fun powers, but an entire world with superpowers is a world I've always wanted to explore."

"I'm so grateful for the opportunity to work with Tim [Kring], and the awesome team around him, in bringing this to life," he added. "Moreover, to be working with NBC again is such a reward in itself, as my bonds and relationships there are deep."

While focusing on new characters, the revival of the sci-fi series "Heroes" is expected to see some familiar faces returning. Jack Coleman is the first original cast confirmed for the new show. He will reprise his role as Noah Bennett a.k.a. HRG (the Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses).

"Jack's the way in, but I think - and I'm not trying to be coy because we just don't know - you will see several of the old cast popping in to episodes," NBC president Robert Greenblatt said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour over the weekend.
