Directors Anthony and Joe Russo talk about Black Widow's appearance at an event in China, adding that Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Winter Soldier 'will be back.'

AceShowbiz - Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and other characters are confirmed to return to "Captain America: Civil War". Directors Anthony and Joe Russo shared the news during a press event in Beijing, China. Speaking to Sina.com (via CBM), Anthony revealed that they had been preparing for the movie.

"We've been preparing for the movie since the one debuted last year," he was quoted as saying. "So, we've been working on it for a long time now. We're very happy how it's coming along. 'Captain America 3' is gonna be called 'Captain America: Civil War' and it's going to star Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson will be back, Winter Soldier will be back, and Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man will also be joining us in the next film."

Earlier on Thursday, January 14, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely teased what would happen in the follow-up to "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". Speaking to IGN at the TCA, the writers said that "Civil War" had been altered to fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"There's a depth of myth [to the Civil War storyline]... It's been on and off the table for a while, let's put it that way, and it's a challenge to do it and make sure that all the characters that we've established, and everyone's established in the MCU are serviced and sound correct, right? Because there's a difference between the characters in Civil War, which was written in 2006, 2007," McFeely explained.

"The MCU doesn't exist [when it was written]. There isn't a Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Evans who has helped create the character so we need to make sure that that template gets adjusted and what have you in order to make sure it services these characters and not just sort of rip off their parts and make them look like them," he added.

Speaking of Peggy Carter who is a close friend to Captain America and Howard Stark, McFeely said, "As we have not started shooting, and I'm on my fourth draft of many, that question [of who Peggy was to Tony Stark] has been in and out all over the place so who knows. So many things can shake out but we've had conversations and we pitched scenes. Some stay and some don't. But we saw [Peggy] in Winter Soldier, so we know she's around."

"Captain America: Civil War" will see Iron Man and Captain America going toe to toe regarding the Superhuman Registration Act. Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther will make his debut in the movie which is set to hit U.S. theaters May 6, 2016.

Filming will take place in April in several cities such as Puerto Rico, Berlin and Atlanta. Anthony Mackie, who plays the Falcon, said in an interview to promote his new movie "Black or White" earlier this week that the filming would feature "flying and fighting for five months."
