The network insists Perez is just taking a month off to fulfill her role in Broadway play 'Fish in the Dark' and will return in February.

AceShowbiz - Rosie Perez is reportedly leaving "The View" just four months after she joined the show. Variety reports that the actress, who has been taking the month of January off to appear in Broadway play "Fish in the Dark", won't return to the talk show following the play.

ABC, however, brushes off the rumor, insisting that Perez will be back in the following month. The network says in a statement addressing Perez's alleged departure, "Rosie Perez is currently in rehearsal for her Broadway play for the month of January. Her status with the show has not changed."

Perez herself has seemingly hinted that she's still part of the show. Responding to a fan who tweeted, "OK Rosie! It's time to come back. You've been away too long!!! Miss you!" Perez wrote back on Tuesday, January 13, "Very sweet... Soon."

Perez and Nicolle Wallace were added to "The View" panel in season 18, joining returning co-host Rosie O'Donnell and longtime moderator Whoopi Goldberg. They fill the seats left vacant by Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, who exited the show last August.
