AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby made a joke about his rape scandal during his stand-up routine at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario on Thursday night, January 8. Prior to his show, hundreds of protesters gathered outside the venue, bringing some signs and shouted "shame on you" to ticket-holders.
According to the Associated Press, Bill saw a woman in the front row of the audience getting up and walking past the stage and asked where she was going. When the woman replied that she wanted to grab a drink, the comedian told her, "You have to be careful about drinking around me." The audience then laughed and gave him a loud applause.
During the show, two men were ejected after one of them yelled, "We don't love you, Bill!" When he was pulled away by the security guard, he screamed, "You are a rapist. I'm being ejected because you are a rapist."
When the audience started to boo the man, he told them to stop. "No, no, stop," he said while waving his hands. At the end of the show, the star of "The Bill Cosby Show" received a standing ovation.
After the show, Bill issued a statement through his publicist regarding the disruption. "Dear Fans: One outburst but over 2600 loyal, patient and courageous fans enjoyed the most wonderful medicine that exist for human-kind," he said, "Laughter. I thank you, the theatre staff (Budweiser Gardens), the event organizers and the London, ON Community for your continued honor and support. I'm Far From Finished."
