As Oliver's friends are mourning his death, bad guys start taking over Starling City following the fallen of the city's hero.

AceShowbiz - A new promo for the second half of "Arrow" season 3 teases the aftermath of Oliver Queen's death. In the video, a seemingly lifeless body of Oliver is being dragged away from the snow-covered scene where he's beaten down by Ra's al Ghul.

His friends gather in his secret lair while Malcolm Merlyn delivers the sad news, "It's Ra's custom to leave behind the instrument of death as a memorial to the fallen. Oliver Queen is dead." Malcolm shows a bloodied sword to Felicity, Roy and John who look shocked.

As the hero has fallen, hoodlums will band together to raise havoc. "I don't know what happens next," John says, as Ray Palmer is seen testing out some gear. But a new heroine steps up to protect Starling City. Katie Cassidy's Laurel is seen donning the Black Canary suit. An archer, who could be Oliver, Malcolm or Roy, is also seen running through a tunnel.

"Arrow" returns with a new episode, "Left Behind", on Wednesday, January 21 at 8/7c on The CW. According to the official synopsis for the episode, "in the aftermath of Oliver's fight with Ra's al Ghul, Diggle and Arsenal continue to protect the city in the Arrow's absence. However, after three days without hearing from Oliver, they begin to fear the worst may have happened to their friend."

"Felicity refuses to believe that Oliver could be dead until Merlyn pays the team a surprise visit. Thea suspects there is something more behind Oliver's disappearance and asks Merlyn for a favor. Meanwhile, Ray tests a part of his new suit and Laurel takes up the mantle of the Black Canary."
