HBO Sets Premiere Dates of 'Game of Thrones', 'Veep' and 'Silicon Valley' New Seasons

All three shows will return Sunday, April 12, following the conclusions of 'Girls', 'Togetherness' and 'Looking' which debut this coming Sunday.

AceShowbiz - HBO has set a return date for its hit series "Game of Thrones". The network announced on Thursday, January 8 at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the highly anticipated fifth season of the medieval drama would launch Sunday, April 12.

On the same day, Julia Louis-Dreyfus-starring comedy "Veep" and tech-themed sitcom "Silicon Valley" will return with a fourth season and a second season respectively. These shows' returns follow the conclusions of "Girls", "Togetherness" and "Looking" which all debut this Sunday, January 11.

While waiting for the new season of "Game of Thrones", fans can experience a new way of watching the show when it screens in IMAX theaters for a week beginning January 23. The last two episodes of the fourth season, "The Watchers on the Wall" and "The Children", will be digitally re-mastered to be compatible with the IMAX format. An exclusive trailer for season 5 will also be debuted during the IMAX screening.
