Some cinemas decided to show the satire movie focusing on North Korea after 'The Interview' was pulled by Sony only to backtrack their decision after Paramount said no.

AceShowbiz - "Team America: World Police", a 2005 movie which plot centers on North Korea, is also pulled from some theaters in the wake of threats on cinemas which show "The Interview". Some cinemas previously decided to show the movie after the Seth Rogen and James Franco-starring comedy Christmas Day release was scrapped by Sony Pictures Entertainment, but now they had to backtrack the decision after Paramount also backed down.

"Due to to circumstances beyond our control, the TEAM AMERICA 12/27 screening has been cancelled. We apologize & will provide refunds today," read an announcement by Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas/Fort Worth on Twitter. Cleveland's Capitol Theatre also posted similar statement.

"Team America: World Police" is a puppet satire which focuses on a group of an international police force. North Korea's Kim Jong-Il is featured as one of the villains in the story.

"The Interview", which tells the story of two TV journalists who are sent by the CIA to assassinate Kim Jong-Un, is widely believed to be the driving force of a massive cyber attack against Sony by a group of hackers called Guardians of Peace. The hackers leaked sensitive information about former and current employees, a handful of unreleased films as well as emails from executives' inbox.

Sony has been hit by two class-action lawsuits over the leak of the data and now they are facing a third lawsuit. On Wednesday, December 17, two former employees Joshua Forster of Denver and Ella Carline Archibeque of Los Angeles filed the suit in federal court in Los Angeles, alleging negligence in regards to the cyber attack. As reported by Variety, the suit also mentions, "SPE has statutory obligations to protect its employees' employment and personnel records from unauthorized access, yet failed at numerous opportunities to prevent, detect, end or limit the scope of the breach."

The massive attack at the company has also gained attention of the White House. On Thursday, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the attack was considered a "serious national security matter." He did not mention North Korea as a party responsible in the hacking, explaining that an investigation by the FBI and Justice Department is "progressing."
