AceShowbiz - A brand new character apparently will make an appearance in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens". The highly-anticipated movie recently shared names of the characters which appear in the teaser trailer. Now, a character which is not featured in the trailer is revealed in a new report.

According to Stitch Kingdom, Lucas Film registered several related applications for the characters on December 11. Among the characters, there is one called Captain Phasma which has not appeared in previous works. MovieWeb additionally speculated that the character would be played by Gwendoline Christie. Phasma is described as "an Imperial Officer with ties to the force who is pursuing John Boyega's Finn, an AWOL stormtrooper, across the universe."

Last week, the J.J. Abrams-directed movie introduced some of the characters. In addition to Boyega's Finn, the teaser trailer which was released earlier this month features a cute ball droid named BB-8, a cloaked figure called Kylo Ren, X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron (played by Oscar Isaac) and Ren (portrayed by Daisy Ridley). Characters for other stars who are cast in the movie such as Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow are still kept under wraps.

The upcoming "Star Wars" movie also features Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher who reprise their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia respectively. It storms U.S. theaters on December 18, 2015.
