AceShowbiz - Bradley Cooper showed up at the New York City premiere of his new movie "American Sniper" on Monday, December 15. Looking dapper in a dark suit, the actor posed on the red carpet alongside Sienna Miller who chose a white lace ensemble with some sheer panel for the event which took place at the Frederick P. Rose Hall at the Jazz At Lincoln Center.

Miller was all-smiles on the red carpet. She was photographed gazing at her co-star at one point. The two were also joined by the movie director Clint Eastwood who sported a suit and a purple tie. Other cast members such as Luke Grimes, Eric Ladin, Eric Close, Cory Hardrict and Jake McDorman were also present.

"American Sniper" tells the story of a Navy SEAL member Chris Kyle who set the record for the highest number of sniper kills for an American. Speaking to THR last week, Cooper shared he learned about Kyle from scripwriter Jason Hall and got interested in the story.

"I really loved this story and this idea, the way that he framed it," he told the news outlet. "I saw it as a Western, almost like [Eastwood's 1992 best picture Oscar winner] 'Unforgiven', about this guy who has this special skill that happens to be killing people. And then the idea with the enemy? That there's another sniper? There was a whole structure of how to frame the movie that I felt could be new and compelling."

He additionally said of the experience, "Personally, to set a goal and actually achieve it, which I had a lot of fear that I wasn't gonna be able to do; the honor of being able to walk - pretend to walk - in this man's shoes; to have the trust of his family, having his father look me in the eyes and trust me to do this; being able to walk the path with Clint Eastwood, who is one of the reasons why I wanted to become an actor and get involved with film; getting to make a great friend with Sienna Miller - all of those things."
