The track was originally written and recorded by Lorde for her 2013 debut album 'Pure Heroine'.

AceShowbiz - "Whilst trawling through [her] archives," Lorde found an unreleased song that was originally created for her debut album "Pure Heroine". The New Zealand native then let her fans listen to the track called "Lost Boys" by posting it to her Tumblr on Wednesday, December 10.

The song comes only in the form of a 40-second snippet in "s**tty iPhone quality." On it, she's heard singing, "We'll stay at your house/ Watch all those late shows on TV/ I like you best when you're right here with me."

In an accompanying post, Lorde revealed that she wrote "Lost Boys" in March 2013 and she "spent a day on it and then never touched it again." She added, "A lot of people asked what happened to lost boys, and I guess you'll never hear the other three-quarters of the song." Although she said the song is not good, she wanted to share it with everyone because "there was something about these bridge melodies I thought was pretty."

Lorde's acclaimed debut effort, which features the hit "Royals", was released last year. Her most recent project is the soundtrack of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1". In addition to curating the album, the 18-year-old performer recorded an original tune called "Yellow Flicker Beat".
