'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' to Connect to 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'

The impact of the event in the 'Avengers' sequel, however, won't be as big as 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' was on the TV series.

AceShowbiz - "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." will feature a tie-in to "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Executive producer Jed Whedon has confirmed it, telling EW, "You should expect something. The 'Avengers' is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we're included in that."

It's unclear how "The Avengers" sequel will impact the ABC series, but the ripple effects will be smaller than the ones caused by the event in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier". Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen adds, "I don't think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that 'Captain America 2' did, but there will be connections."

The big revelation that Hydra had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. in "Captain America 2" was a game changer on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." in season 1. The show has also featured a crossover with "Thor: The Dark World" when an Asgardian stuff fell into the hands of mortals on Earth in the aftermath of the epic battle in the "Thor" sequel and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had to clean it up.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs Tuesdays at 9 P.M. ET on ABC.
