The singer tells the crowd at the gig at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach that the song was inspired by a friend's dying cat that spoke to her in her dream.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus made an unexpected appearance at the Art Basel to play a private gig at the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach, Miami last week. During the show, she performed several covers of songs by Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Johnny Cash in addition to a new song called "The Twinkle Song".

A video of her performing the brand new track emerged online over the weekend. In the clip taken by someone in the crowd, the former Disney darling took the stage in a silver wig and and thong-baring leotard.

"I've never played by myself on a stage before and you've never played a song that I've only played in my living room before, so I'm a little nervous," she told the audience and went on explaining that she wrote the song after her friend's dying cat talked to her in her dream.

"I feel like her cat kind of told me what I was supposed to say to get her through it... It was more therapy to me than anything," she added before singing the slow-tempo ballad while playing the piano.

Also during the Art Basel gig, Cyrus talked to the crowd about how difficult this year had been for her. She then danced with a naked lady and some people in shark, penis and mushroom costumes at some point and smoked weed on the stage. "Usually I don't smoke weed and drink, well that's a lie ... usually I don't smoke weed and drink on show days, but I felt like it was fine in Miami," she said.
