According to Miyavi, the 'Maleficent' actress is so dedicated to her job that she didn't eat much while directing the Louis Zamperini biopic.

AceShowbiz - Directing "Unbroken" caused Angelina Jolie to lose her weight, according one of the cast members, Miyavi. The Japanese actor says the actress-turned-helmer was so focused on her job behind the lens that she neglected eating properly while on the set.

"It was surprising how much she trusted me, all of us, on the set," he opened up to the Huffington Post. "She was so determined. I was also surprised how skinny she got. You know, she was not eating much. I felt so bad I was the only one who got fat during filming."

"Thanks to her attitude and determination, everyone was able to be on the same page," Miyavi added. Co-star Garrett Hedlund echoed the praise, "She was extremely collaborative and sort of inspired the whole time. I think because she's an actress she loves watching the actors kind of get a little mental and sort of cram and trial and error and figure things out. And I think it makes her smile."

Finn Wittrock also commended Jolie's skills at the helm, "She was our leader. She was also very collaborative and very curious about what you had to bring and it's like, 'Let's figure it out together.' That said, she does have a real vision for the movie." Jack O'Connell sang praise for the female director as well, "She never pretended to be an expert on everything either. There wasn't that pretense. She was happy to learn with us."

"Unbroken" is about American World War II hero Louis Zamperini, who survived a plane crash and endured years of tortures at the hands of the enemies. O'Connell plays the main character, Hedlund portrays fellow prisoner of war, and Miyavi stars as their tormentor. The true-story drama will be released in U.S. on Christmas Day this year.
