The 'Burn Notice' alum is close to signing up for the FX anthology series, while the 'Parks and Recreation' star has an offer to join the cast.

AceShowbiz - Jeffrey Donovan and Nick Offerman may set foot in "Fargo". The two actors have been linked to the second season of the FX anthology series, with the former reportedly having been cast as Dodd. Details of the character are not available yet.

While the "Burn Notice" actor is nearing a deal to join the cast of the show, Offerman has been given the offer for a role named Carl, according to TheWrap which first reported the news. The Ron Swanson of "Parks and Recreation", however, is not currently in negotiations.

Newcomer Rachel Keller, meanwhile, has been cast in the role of Simone. Mike Bradecich ("Mighty Med") and Allan Dobrescu are also up for other roles in the second installment of the Noah Hawley-created series.

Hawley said at the TCA summer press tour in July that "Fargo" season 2 would be a cross between the original film, the Coen brothers' "Miller's Crossing" and "The Man Who Wasn't There". It will be set in 1979 and focus on the younger version of Keith Carradine's character Lou Solverson, who just returned from the Vietnam War.

"He thought he left the war behind, but he came back and here it is, it's domestic," Hawley said of the character. He added, "We will meet Molly's mother, who was not a character in season 1 ... and we'll learn what happened to her," and, "Ben Schmidt [the police lieutenant played by Peter Breitmayer in the first season] will factor in there somewhere."
