'Source Code 2' Officially in Development With New Director
Movie

First movie's helmer Duncan Jones stepped down from his role, being replaced by Roland Emmerich's director of photography Anna Foester.

AceShowbiz - "Source Code" is getting a sequel and development is well underway. Anna Foerster, who worked as Roland Emmerich's director of photography, will be making her directorial debut in "Source Code 2".

The science fiction thriller will once again be produced by the Mark Gordon Company and Vendome Pictures, Variety reported. Ben Ripley, who wrote the first movie, is returning as screenwriter for the sequel. Original star Jake Gyllenhaal and director Duncan Jones will not be involved in the second installment. In fact, no actor or distributor are attached yet.

Gordon will produce alongside Vendome's Philippe Rousselet. Michele Wolkoff and Drew Simon will oversee the project for the Mark Gordon Company, with Guy Stodel and Fabrice Gianfermi overseeing for Vendome.

Released in 2011, "Source Code" made $147 million worldwide from an estimated $30 million budget. Gyllenhall starred as a fatally wounded soldier in Afghanistan teleported into the body of a stranger, whose last eight minutes aboard a Chicago train hijacked by terrorists he endlessly relives.
