Martin Scorsese's Rock 'n' Roll Drama Picked Up to Series by HBO

Starring Bobby Cannavale, the music drama follows American Century Records who has great ear to find talents.

AceShowbiz - HBO has officially picked up the rock 'n' roll drama from Martin Scorsese to series. The yet titled one-hour long series is also executive produced by Terence Winter, Mick Jagger and George Mastras.

Set in 1970s, the drama explores the drug- and sex-fueled music business as punk and disco were breaking out, all through the eyes of a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound. Bobby Cannavale has been cast as Richie, the founder and president of American Century Records, who has a great ear for discovering talent. He undergoes a crisis of character when confronted with a life-altering decision.

Olivia Wilde will play his wife, Devon, a former actress/model who lived a Bohemian life in 1960s New York. Ray Romano is Zak Yankovich, one of Richie's partners aka the tough and savvy Head of Promotions of American Century with decades of experience dating back to the dark, mob-infested days of the recording business.

The rest of the cast list include Juno Temple, Andrew Dice Clay%, James Jagger% and Max Casella. Scorsese directed the pilot while Winter penned the script with Mastras. No premiere date has been announced.
