The Broadway star, who voices Elsa the Snow Queen in the Disney blockbuster movie, says she made her previous comment because the film was so successful.

AceShowbiz - A sequel to "Frozen (2013)" may not be in the works yet. Idina Menzel, the first person who suggested that the second installment of the blockbuster movie could happen, made it clear that she actually didn't know what Disney was planning.

During her visit to "Today" show on Monday, December 1, the star who voiced Elsa the Snow Queen said that her previous comment about the sequel was just her assumption. "You know, I have no idea," she told the show's host. "I just assume because it's so successful, that that's what they're up to - [another film]."

"Frozen", which also features the voices of Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, was a huge success. It grossed more than $1.27 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the highest-grossing animated movie ever.

Its soundtrack was equally successful. Powered by Oscar-winning song "Let It Go" and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?", the set spent multiple weeks atop Billboard 200. It has so far sold 3.5 million copies in the U.S.

Menzel hinted at "Frozen 2" in last week's interview with U.K.'s The Telegraph. At that time, she was asked about a potential sequel and a stage musical. She then revealed that "they're all in the works."
