AceShowbiz - Will Forte won't be the only human who survives on "The Last Man on Earth". January Jones and Kristen Schaal are just added to the cast of FOX's upcoming comedy series, which is headlined by the "Saturday Night Live" alum.
"Mad Men" star Jones will play Melissa, while former "30 Rock" star Schaal will play Carol Pilbasian. Details about their roles are not revealed yet. The cast of the freshman comedy also includes Mel Rodriguez ("Getting On") and Cleopatra Coleman ("Neighbours") as Todd and Erica, respectively. Todd has been described as a very optimistic John Candy-type, while Erica is a first year med student.
"The Last Man on Earth" was created by Forte, who will also serve as executive producer along with "The Lego Movie" directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, as well as Seth Cohen ("Drunk History").
The show follows Forte's Phil Miller, the last man on earth in 2022. He drives his RV around the country to search for other survivors after an unknown event wipes out the entire population of Earth.
"The Last Man on Earth" is set to debut with a one-hour premiere on Sunday, March 1 at 9 P.M. ET on FOX.
