Robert Kirkman has finally given a straight answer on whether or not Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus on the AMC series, is gay.

AceShowbiz - "The Walking Dead" comic book creator Robert Kirkman has put to rest speculation about Daryl Dixon's sexual orientation. On the Sunday, November 30 episode of "The Talking Dead", he gave a direct answer to the question that has made fans curious over these past few months.

"Daryl Dixon is being somewhat A-Sexual on the show, he's a very introverted character and I think that's somewhat his appeal," he began talking about the character played by Norman Reedus on the AMC hit series. "In 'The Walking Dead' letters column in the old comic book that I do, there was a question that made me mention that there was a possibility early on about making Daryl Dixon's character gay and it caused quite a hubbub online."

He continued, "I just wanted to make it clear that the possibility is there and I would've been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it, but we ultimately didn't do that. I can make it official, Daryl Dixon is actually straight." He added that in the second half of season 5, they're going to introduce "a very prominent gay character from the comics that'll be debuting."

"The Walking Dead" takes a hiatus after airing "Coda" on Sunday, and will return with new episodes beginning in February. The midseason finale saw the death of another major character which later became a trending topic on Twitter.
