'Fury', 'Annie' Among Movies Leaked Online Following Sony Pictures Hacking

The WWII drama, the highly-anticipated flick starring Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx, 'Mr. Turner' and 'Still Alice' are some of the movies which are shared online after a recent hacking.

AceShowbiz - At least five movies by Sony Pictures were pirated following a hacking incident recently. Brad Pitt's WWII drama "Fury" which was released in mid-October and is still on theaters, "Annie", a highly-anticipated movie starring Quvenzhane Wallis and Jamie Foxx, "Mr. Turner", "Still Alice" and "To Write Love on Her Arms" are the flicks which landed online.

The studio has responded to the massive copyright infringement issue. "The theft of Sony Pictures Entertainment content is a criminal matter, and we are working closely with law enforcement to address it," a spokesperson said on Saturday, November 29.

According to piracy-tracking firm Excipio, per November 30 "Fury" has been downloaded 1.2 million times since its emergence on Thursday. "Annie" which is set to hit the theaters on December 19 has been downloaded by 206,000 unique IP addresses, while Julianne Moore starrer "Still Alice" has been downloaded over 103,000 times. The drama about British painter J.M.W. Turner and "To Write Love on Her Arms" which is set to be released in March have been downloaded less than 100,000 times.

Last Monday, an image of a skull and a message which read "Hacked by #GOP" showed up on the company's computers. GOP, which stands for Guardians of Peace, said they would release "secrets and top secrets."

On Sunday, Sony is still struggling to restore their system. According to Reuters, they have enlisted the help of FireEye Inc's Mandiant forensics unit to deal with the issue. One source says the mail system is expected to be back online Monday.
