The masterminds behind the upcoming holiday musical event decided to present Tinkerbell with new technology.

AceShowbiz - A week shy of its debut, a secret behind the making of "Peter Pan Live!" is revealed in a documentary called "The Making of Peter Pan Live!" airing Wednesday night, November 26. It turns out that the show will not only feature acting, singing and dancing, but also the use of CGI.

Tinkerbell, which is a fairy in the classic tale by J. M. Barrie, will be computer generated. "Tink is going to be computer generated and manually guided around the screen by a technician," executive producer Neil Meron told EW. "The actors won't be able to see her, but that technician will be able to move Tink with the actors and change her size and color to indicate what she's feeling."

The character, in the Peter Pan stage show, has always been a light and sound cue. Meron explained, "We've been doing research on the best presentation for Tinkerbell and I don't think we can do a flashing light in a table lamp."

She will still be represented by light though. "Everything else looked old fashioned," Meron said. "We wanted to see if we could do Tink with new technology."

"Peter Pan Live!" stars Allison Williams as the title character, Christopher Walken as Captain Hook, Christian Borle as Mr. Smee and George Darling as well as many other actors. The holiday musical event is directed by Glenn Weiss and will air Thursday, December 4 from 8 to 10 P.M. on NBC.
