The besties showed off their close friendship at the 2014 American Music Awards after the 'Spring Breakers' star delivered an emotional performance.

AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were seen hugging each other tight at one point during the 2014 American Music Awards which took place on Sunday, November 23. A photo, which apparently was taken after Gomez's emotional performance of her new song "The Heart Wants What It Wants", shows Swift wearing a green outfit embracing her BFF. Gomez can be seen smiling when receiving the hug.
Gomez performed "The Heart Wants What It Wants" for the first time at the annual awards show. Wearing a nude-colored dress by Giorgio Armani, Gomez was holding back her tears when she delivered a performance of the song which allegedly is about her on-again, off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber. A silhouette which looked like the "Baby" singer appeared on the background at one point.
When camera panned on the audience following the performance, Swift can be seen clapping while her eyes glimmered with tears. Lorde, who sat beside Swift, looked equally touched by the performance.
The "Spring Breakers" star also had some fun bonding with Swift and other stars at the event. She took a snap with the "Red" singer and Karlie Kloss and had a chat with Sam Smith.
