AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus made a contribution to the soundtrack of the upcoming "Free the Nipple" movie. Variety reports that the former Disney star has covered Melanie Safka's "Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma" for the film directed by Lina Esco.

Cyrus is no stranger to the track as she has played it in the past. For the movie, however, she created her own version with the help of producers Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes. "It's more rock 'n' roll," Esco said. "It's very Johnny Cash. Her voice is so raw, and the song is so raw."

Recorded back in August, the controversial singer's take on "Look What They've Done to My Song, Ma" will be played during the film's closing credits.

"Free the Nipple" was originally a feminist movement started by Esco in 2013 to encourage women to promote gender equality by showing their bare breasts in public. "This is about equality," Esco explained. "You can show beheadings on Facebook, but you can't show breastfeeding. If you're going to censor nudity and love, you should censor violence."

The campaign, supported by celebrities like Lena Dunham, Liv Tyler and Rihanna, was later adapted into a movie of the same name with "Gone Girl" actress Lola Kirke among its cast members. The film opens in U.S. theaters and on VOD on December 12.
