Burt Jenner, who was taking part in a race with the former Olympian when their ride got into an accident, recalls, 'We rolled the truck kind of on its side and had to climb out.'

AceShowbiz - Bruce Jenner and his son Burt Jenner escaped with some scrapes after they got into an accident when taking part in an off-road race in Mexico on Thursday, November 6. Burt, who took to Instagram to assure people that he and his dad were okay, now has opened up about the scary accident with E! News.

"I invited my dad to come out and ride with me," he said. "It's kind of been a lifelong dream for us to go down and race in Baja. We had an opportunity [before], but [Brody Jenner] was a little too scared to do it, so the deal kind of fell apart."

"It's known as one of the toughest off road races in the world, if not the toughest. I started the race as the driver with my dad as the navigator. We got a flat tire at mile 140. We were supposed to switch the driver and navigator position at mile 160, so we made a decision to make the change a little earlier. My dad got in the driver seat and unfortunately had crashed the car, and ripped the brake line and power steering off at mile 178," he explained. "We rolled the truck kind of on its side and had to climb out. We were able to get the truck back together after a couple hour wait out in the desert."

Following the scary ordeal, Burt took to Instagram to tell people that he and the former Olympian were left unscathed. "Beat but not broken... Had to have a few beers before I could tell @pottsracing his #trophytruck would not be making it to him... #classyShot #YesThatsACathider," he captioned a photo of him posing with Bruce. On Monday, he uploaded another photo of their truck on its side.

Bruce, meanwhile, was last seen grabbing a coffee at Starbucks in Calabasas over the weekend. Wearing a striped top, beige pants and a hat, Bruce had some scratches on his hand which apparently were caused by the accident.
