A lawyer for the music producer who is accused of sexually abusing the 'Tik Tok' hitmaker argues that Kesha's claims have passed the statute of limitations.

AceShowbiz - Dr. Luke wants judge to dismiss Kesha's lawsuit against him. The "Tik Tok" hitmaker, formerly known as Ke$ha, filed a suit against the music producer last month, claiming that she was abused by him during their 1-decade of professional relationship and now seeking for release from their contractual obligations.

As reported by The Associated Press, a lawyer for Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, appeared in court on Monday, November 18 and explained that the rape allegation she made could not have occurred in the last two years. Dr. Luke's camp also asked gender violence claim which Kesha made to be thrown. Apart from the allegations, Kesha also accused the producer of sexual harassment, civil harassment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Kesha's lawyer Mark Geragos has responded to the move by Dr. Luke's camp, saying that he is confident his client will win the case. "Dr. Luke is hiding behind a legally flawed motion which we expect won't work," he said in an e-mail to the news outlet.

When Kesha filed her suit in early September, she said she only fought back now because Dr. Luke threatened to "destroy" her and her family. Dr. Luke, who worked with many stars such as Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry among others, has denied the "Die Young" singer's claims, saying that she and her mother Pebe Sebert made the "defamatory statements in an attempt to extort Gottwald into releasing Kesha from her exclusive recording agreement with Dr. Luke."
