Alec Baldwin Eyed to Join Matt Damon in 'Downsizing'
Movie

The former '30 Rock' star is eyed by director Alexander Payne to join the cast ensemble of his social satire film that takes place in a dystopian future.

AceShowbiz - Alec Baldwin is wanted for "Downsizing", an upcoming social satire movie from director Alexander Payne ("The Descendants", "Nebraska"). If the deal is sealed, the former "30 Rock" star will join previously-confirmed cast member Matt Damon.

The film takes place in a not-too-distant future where humans are now able to shrink as a mean to battle over-consumption and the rapid depletion of earth's natural resources. It will follow a man who is low on money and decides he can have a much nicer life if he downsizes himself.

The movie has been in development hell since 2009. The original cast members include Paul Giamatti, Sacha Baron Cohen, Meryl Streep and Reese Witherspoon. It's unclear if any of them are still attached to the project which is now plotted for a 2016 release.

Baldwin will next star in "Mission: Impossible V" and lend his voice to "Boss Baby".
