A movie that will shed light on the younger days of the sweet elderly woman who raised Peter Parker like her own child is reportedly in the works.

AceShowbiz - Aunt May from Spider-Man Universe may get her own movie. Sony is reportedly trying to take a crack at a story that will follow the character during her younger days before she was shouldered with the responsibility of raising Peter Parker. According to Latino-Review, the target mood is some sort of espionage story in the vein of AMC's "Mad Men".
May Reilly Parker-Jameson and her husband Uncle Ben took care of Peter Parker after the death of his parents Richard Parker and his wife Mary. Back in 2003, Marvel Comics attempted to tweak Spidey's origins in a Mark Miller-penned mini-series "Trouble" which revealed May as Peter's biological mother. The story, however, was not received well by fans.
The new spin-off rumor is added to the pile of rumored scenarios Sony has for its Spider-Man movie franchise. A previous report suggested the studio was planning "Glass Ceiling" that would bring together a group of tough female characters from the web-slinger's world in one big assemble film a la "The Avengers".
Sony originally plotted to expand Spidey cinematic universe by developing two more "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequels, a "Venom Carnage" spin-off, and "The Sinister Six" anti-hero movie. However, the lukewarm performance of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" has left the planned movie slate in disarray.
"Venom" is rumored to be canceled and the studio is considering three options for Spider-Man. They reportedly plan to either bench the character for several years or replace Andrew Garfield with a fresh face or have the web-slinger join Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for "Sinister Six", it still goes as planned for November 11, 2016 release. "The Cabin in the Woods" helmer Drew Goddard will helm and write the script.
