The new drama starring Ioan Gruffudd gets back-nine pick-up despite modest ratings.

AceShowbiz - ABC gave bad news and good news to two different shows on the same day. Following reports that the network canceled new comedy "Selfie", fellow freshman "Forever" is now celebrating its full-season order.
The Alphabet has picked up the back-nine episodes to bring the first sesason of the drama to 22 episodes. The move is quite surprising since the show is not a hit, with the most recent episode pulling in 4.9 million viewers and a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. The show, however, benefits strongly from DVR, averaging 7.6 million viewers and a 1.9 rating so far.
"Forever" stars Ioan Gruffudd as Dr. Henry Morgan, an immortal medical examiner in New York City, who is always reborn at 35 years old, without aging a day. He studies the dead for criminal cases and to solve the mystery of his own immortality.
