The upbeat track will appear on the Vine star's debut album which is expected to arrive before he joins Taylor Swift's tour next year.

AceShowbiz - After being teased with some previews, Vine star Shawn Mendes' new single "Something Big" was finally released on Friday, November 7. Unlike his previous release "Life of the Party", the new track is more upbeat but still has his classic acoustic guitar sound.

It sounds a little bit like Ed Sheeran's "Sing". Mendes rap-sings most of the lyrics, which are apparently about his budding career. "It's like that feeling when you're about to win the medal, and you worked so hard that you knew you wouldn't settle," he says. "When they hear you and you thought they wouldn't listen, it's like an anthem that the whole world's singin."

"Something Big" will appear on Mendes' debut album that will follow up his EP "The Shawn Mendes" released earlier this year. There's still no official word on when the yet-to-be-titled record will arrive.

Recently, it's announced that the Canadian teen would be hitting the road with Taylor Swift for her upcoming "1989" tour. He will join the 24-year-old superstar and fellow supporting act Vance Joy at select dates during the North American leg of the tour.
