AceShowbiz - The Rolling Stones has been forced to cancel an Australian concert after frontman Mick Jagger fell ill. According to a statement posted on the website of tour promoter Frontier, the rocker was diagnosed with a throat infection and is now under "strict doctor's orders to rest his vocal cords in order to recuperate for the remainder of the tour."
The canceled gig was supposed to take place at Hanging Rock in Victoria on Saturday night, November 8. "The Rolling Stones are incredibly disappointed to cancel the Hanging Rock gig and to disappoint their fans but were left with no other option," said a spokesperson in the statement.
The Victoria show was a part of The Rolling Stones' "14 on Fire" tour. According to Herald Sun, the show won't be rescheduled due to the band's commitment after wrapping up the Australian leg of the tour. Fans who purchased through Ticketmaster will receive a refund on their tickets.
The veteran rock band's next concert in Australia is scheduled to be held in Sydney on November 12.
