The latest internet sensation admits that he's confused about his newfound fame, saying that he has received marriage proposals.

AceShowbiz - Alex From Target has solidified his new celebrity status by making an appearance on a talk show. The latest internet sensation, whose real name is Alex Lee, stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday, November 5 to talk about the buzz surrounding him.

Showing up in his trademark red-and-khaki Target uniform, the 16-year-old boy sat down for an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. The teen, who has just worked at the Target for "about three months," said he had noticed "a few" customers taking pictures of him, but "apparently there's a lot more" than he'd noticed.

On how he found out that his photo went viral, he shared, "My manager came up to me and she showed me the actual picture. I thought it was fake... I thought it was fake! And then, about an hour later, these random girls I've never met before came in and showed me my Twitter page, and it had like 5,000 more followers." He added, "I was just really confused."

"Do you feel now obligated that you have to tweet things out like you're a big celebrity?" Ellen asked, to which Alex responded, "Oh, my God...I just feel so pressured. Like they're waiting." Asked if he had had marriage proposals, he shyly replied, "I mean, yeah."

Alex, who originally had only 144 Twitter followers, now has more than 600k followers. Marketing firm Breakr recently took credit for making "Alex from Target" go viral, claiming that it had conducted what it called "one of the most amazing social media experiments ever."

"We wanted to see how powerful the fangirl demographic was by taking an unknown good-looking kid and Target employee from Texas to overnight viral internet sensation," Dil-Domine Jacobe Leonares, the CEO of Breakr, wrote in a LinkedIn post.

"Thanks for all the support - it wasn't so much marketing ploy but more so a social test to see how powerful fanbases are. #bettertogether," the company also tweeted.

Target, however, denied that it had anything to do with the creation or posting of the photo. "The Target team was as surprised as anyone," the company said in a statement.

Alex also denied claim that he gave permission to have his photo taken, writing on Twitter, "I didn't know the pic was taken or tweeted until my store manager showed me." He added, "Apparently there is a company trying to take credit for how the pic taken of me went viral. My family and I have never heard of this company."
