'Witches of East End' Canceled by Lifetime After Two Seasons

Lifetime decides not to move forward with the supernatural drama series which is based on Melissa de la Cruz's novel of the same name.

AceShowbiz - "Witches of East End" won't be able to conjure magic spells again. Lifetime has canceled the supernatural drama series after two seasons, leaving some cliffhangers in the second season finale left unanswered.

Confirming the cancellation, the cast of the show took to Twitter to thank fans for their support all this time. Jenna Dewan Tatum wrote, "Not enough love in the world for the amazing cast, crew, writers and fans of #WitchesofEastEnd. This has been an incredible journey! I U." Rachel Boston tweeted, "Thank you to everyone who went on this extraordinary journey with us. Your love, kindness, and support is forever magic. #WitchesofEastEnd."

Eric Winter posted a similar message which read, "Big thanks to the @WitchesEastEnd supporters over the past 2 seasons. You're the best! Sorry the show is gone but we loved entertaining you!" Daniel di Tomasso added, "To the cast, crew, and creative team at #WitchesofEastEnd, thank you. An equally heartfelt thanks to the fans. Best ever. #woee #witchees."

"Witches of East End" is based on the book of the same name by Melissa de la Cruz. The first season averaged 1.67 million viewers, but dropped to 1.13 million in its second outing. The season finale which is now series finale only drew 1.03 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 adults demo.
