The 'Shake It Off' singer is officially the first act to have three albums open atop the charts with more than 1 million copies sold.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift officially rules this week's Billboard 200. Nielsen SoundScan which tracks music sales for Billboard has revealed that the 24-year-old superstar's latest album, "1989", sold 1.287 million copies in the week ending November 2.

According to Billboard, "1989" is just the 19th album in the SoundScan era to sell a million copies in a single week. It becomes the first album released in 2014 that has gone platinum. The record also becomes the second-largest-selling album of 2014, behind the "Frozen (2013)" soundtrack which was released in late 2013 and has sold 3.2 million this year.

That's not all. The LP posts the largest sales week for an album since Eminem's "The Eminem Show" sold 1.322 million in its second week in June 2002. Billboard additionally notes that Swift is the first act ever to have three albums open with more than a million copies. Her last two releases, "Red" and "Speak Now", started with 1.208 million and 1.047 million, respectively.

"1989", marking Swift's fifth studio album and her first pop effort, was released last week via Big Machine. The set has spawned several hits including lead single "Shake It Off" which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.

Other albums in the top 10 of this week's Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, November 5.
