The slowed-down version of TLC's hit single will appear on Midler's first album in eight years that's scheduled to hit the stores on November 4.

AceShowbiz - Bette Midler is now readying a new album, her first since 2006. Titled "It's the Girls", the upcoming record will feature the singer's covers of songs by famous girl groups including TLC's classic "Waterfalls".

Midler shared her cover of the trio's hit single on Thursday, October 23 via The Advocate. The new version finds the 68-year-old star slowing down the tempo and singing the lyrics over a piano and a soft drum beat.

" 'Waterfalls' was a heartbreaker, especially if you were a mom, and it had a big effect on me," Midler recently told Billboard of her decision to cover the song. "I never thought I would have the nerve to sing it, but we had an idea for it that works, and I am so glad I took the chance."

"It's the Girls" is due out on November 4 via Warner Bros. Records. In addition to TLC, the record produced by Midler's longtime collaborator Marc Shaiman will include covers of songs by The Boswell Sisters and The Andrews Sisters.

"A long time ago I fell in love with voices in harmony," Midler explained the new album in a press release. "In particular, the sound of female voices singing together. There were so many great girl groups in those days, I still listen as avidly as I ever did. This record is a small attempt to honor them for all the joy they brought to me and the world."
