AceShowbiz - Gwen Stefani has previewed a new song from her upcoming comeback album. Hours after releasing her new single "Baby Don't Lie", the No Doubt frontwoman visited Ryan Seacrest's radio show to promote it and played a snippet of another track called "Spark the Fire".
The catchy song was produced by Pharrell Williams, her longtime collaborator and fellow "The Voice" coach whom she's also been working with for the follow-up to 2006's "The Sweet Escape". "Who got the lighter?/ Let's spark the fire!!" she repeatedly shouts on the 1-minute clip.
Gwen's new album currently has no official release date, although some reports suggest it may come in December. Its lead single "Baby Don't Lie", which she co-penned with Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, was released on iTunes at midnight on Monday, October 20.
"Honestly, I couldn't even sleep last night," Gwen told Seacrest of releasing the song during an interview on the show. "I had to pray myself to sleep last night. I just feel so anxious. Like I said, everything just happened so quickly. Not planning at all. It's been an incredible journey though. It's kind of reflective of the times in a sense that everything is so spontaneous now."
"If I wanted to, I could go record a song in my house and put it out the next day. So it felt good to not over-think and just be like, 'This is coming my way, I'm just gonna go for it.' I always wanted to work with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic. The guy is so talented. And I feel like the more I'm alive and the more talented people I can be around and work with, those are the great things that come out of being open. It was the first song we finished," she added.
Gwen has shot the music video for the song. She let fans take a peek into the fun visuals during the Monday episode of "The Voice".
