Celebrity

The former 'Glee' star discusses her sexuality and gender identity in a new interview with Oprah, saying that she's 'not exactly transitioning to a male, but basically my soul is like male.'

AceShowbiz - Charice opens up about her sexual orientation to Oprah Winfrey in upcoming episode of "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" which is scheduled to air on Sunday, October 19. The Filipina songstress reveals when she realized she was a gay.

"I knew when I was five," the "Pyramid" singer tells Oprah in a sneak peek clip, "I was in grade school and I saw this girl and I felt different. I didn't know what it was but I just knew that time, like it felt special. And when I was 10 I was like, 'Oh, that's it. I'm gay.' I found the word."

Oprah then asks Charice, "So you struggled with transgender, did you? Were you thinking about transitioning to become a male?" in which she replies, "Not exactly transitioning to a male, but basically my soul is like male."

The former "Glee" star continues, "But I'm not going to go through that stage where I'm going to change everything-not change my body. I would change, like this look: Cut my hair and wear boy clothes and everything, but that's all."

Charice came out as a lesbian in June 2013 during an appearance on "The Buzz". At that time, she said, "Opo, tomboy po ako," which means, "Yes, I am a lesbian." She then added, "Now I feel free. I can go out of the house without fear and be certain that I'm not stepping on anybody's toes."
