Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Shoot Down Baby Rumors
Celebrity

The 56-year-old TV host and her wife have set the record straight about rumors which said they're 'finally starting a family.'

AceShowbiz - Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi addressed baby rumors on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday, October 13. Ellen talked to Portia, "The main thing that everybody is asking me about, and asking you about, and I thought I'd let you clear it up, is if we're having a baby or not?"

"It would be so fun for everybody if we were," Portia said, before mentioning a magazine which was shown up by Ellen shortly afterwards. "Did you see it says, 'They're finally starting a family?' Are people really that mad at us?" the Australian model stated. Ellen asked her, "We're not gonna have a baby?" in which Portia replied, "No, we're not." Ellen then joked, "Good for me to know now."

People close to the couple were also confused. Portia shared, "I will say my brother called me and said 'I heard I'm gonna be an uncle?' But he's not gonna read it on the cover of a tabloid." Ellen continued, "My assistant asked if I was keeping something from him because it's so prevalent and everyone assumes we really are having a baby and we're just not sharing it. So we might be having a baby and we're just not sharing it."

"But we're not having a baby. Or are we?" the host added, "We're not."

Ellen and Portia tied the knot in 2008. Portia announced in 2013 that she and Ellen never planned on having children. "You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did," she said at that time, "So it's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies."
