Ozzy Osbourne to Be Honored With Global Icon Award at MTV EMAs

The Black Sabbath frontman joins previous honorees that include Eminem, Whitney Houston, Queen and Bon Jovi.

AceShowbiz - Ozzy Osbourne will receive another honor for his work in music. It's announced on Monday, October 13 that the British rocker would be honored with the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards next month.

"Ozzy's impact on music and pop culture has been tremendous," said Bruce Gillmer, executive vp talent and music programming/events at Viacom International Media Networks. "For over four decades, he's entertained, influenced, inspired and sometimes shocked legions of diehard fans around the globe."

Osbourne, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and three-time Grammy winner who has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, becomes the fifth act to be honored with the Global Icon Awards. The Black Sabbath frontman joins past recipients including Eminem, Whitney Houston, Queen and Bon Jovi.

The EMAs will air on MTV channels worldwide from the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Sunday, November 9. Nicki Minaj will serve as a host. The raptress, along with Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran, will also perform at the event.
